1979-83 GL1100 GoldWing

Up for sale is a 1983 Honda Goldwing GL1100 Interstate, with about 55k miles on it. This is a bike that I’ve owned only since May ’09. This is a project bike. By that I mean, it is not road worthy as of yet, however just a little bit of work and tuning needs to be done to make it so. I’ve been working on this bike off and on since I bought it, and although I have put a lot of work into it, I’ve become unmotivated. It basically needs more work than I’m willing to put into it right now, and I need the room in the garage.

How do you replace the regulator/rectifier on a 1980 Goldwing GL1100? How do you remove the pod that covers up the fuel tank to get at the regulator. Thanks in advance for your help.
